Mordor, before computer graphics

Today I did the Tongariro crossing, considered the best “1 day hike (o trampling like the say here in New Zealand) of Aotearoa, and the set of Mordor in “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. To be honest the 19,4km hike was not so great, except for the sector between Red crater and Emerald lakes, which is absolutely gorgeous.

Mordor, o il Ruapehu, visto dal centro di Ohakune

Oggi è una settimana che sono a Ohakune, paesino che d’inverno è la capitale sciistica dell’isola del Nord della Nuova Zelanda e in estate è molto più tranquillo.
