Luglio outcome report: Malesia e Sumatra

In questi tempi di mascolinità depressa, dove i giovani aspirano solo a ottenere del passive income, solo un cazzuto come lindo boludo contribuisce a spargere dell’active outcome, mentre esplora nuove terre selvagge. 

Luglio è stato un gran bel mese in termini di viaggio e spese contenute, nonchè di piani cambiati in corsa, come solo un vero quitter può fare. Avevo in mente di spendere almeno due settimane al fresco dei Cameron Highlands, e ci sono rimasto solo fino al 4 luglio, perchè il bangladesho che gestisce la guesthouse dove volontariavo, stressato dal troppo lavoro e dal ramadan di sta minchia, mi ha praticamente cacciato, anche se poi si è pentito e mi ha invitato a restare.

Troppo tardi, avevo già il biglietto per Penang, dove oltre a partecipare alle celebrazioni dell’heritage days, ho potuto finalmente avere la mia copia di Nazi Goreng. L’11 luglio ho lasciato l’isola del buon cibo e dei tanti misteri per Sumatra. Due notti a Medan facendo couchsurfing e via per il fresco del Lago Toba, dove avrei voluto rimanere tutto il mese, cercando di scrivere un po’.

Invece dopo 10 giorni di somma pigrizia indotta dall’adattamento al clima fresco, dopo mesi di caldo torrido, ho seguito l’invito della polacca conosciuta in strada a Penang, a visitare Pulau Weh, l’isoletta più a Nord e più a Ovest dell’Indonesia, dove c’è uno snorkeling favoloso, nonostante due anni fa un’ondata di calore ha distrutto molti coralli, e una community di viaggiatori hard core.

Purtroppo la mia settimana di permanenza ha coinciso anche con i quattro giorni di festa dell’Hari Raya Idul Fitri Di Stocaz, la fine del ramadan, che nella provincia di Aceh, la più musulmana dell’arcipelago dove vige la Shariah, è particolarmente incasinata.

Bel posticino comunque e me ne vado dall’Indonesia con una gran voglia di tornare ed esplorare qualcuna delle 17.500 isole fuori dal circuito Giava, Bali, Gilis..

L’ultimo giorno del mese ho lasciato Weh per Kuala Lumpur, da cui il 2 agosto volerò per Bangkok, per andare a prendere e accudire un gruppo di Bologna, che porterò a Ko Samui fino al 14. Le ultime due settimane saranno un avvicinamento per tornare a Kl, da cui il 4 settembre prenderò il volo per tornare in Italia dopo 10 mesi.

Nonostante i 3 voli, e i 10 giorni all’Hotel Carolina, un vero Hotel e non la solita guesthouse da backpacker, sono riuscito a contenere le spese a meno di 500€ per il mese, e a generare dell’active income di 2,45€, l’equivalente di una cena e un succo, in cambio di una lezione di yoga a due delle miriadi di francesi in giro per Suminchia.
