Nishi Hennazaki garden,
At the other extreme in Miyako of Higashi-hennazaki is Nishi-Hennazaki. Nishi=West西, Higashi=East 東, Hennazaki= cape 平安名岬. In Nishi Hennazaki there is a wind park, a view point and some picnic tables. The garden in this picture is in front of the tables-view point. The picture was taken on May 24th, 2012, on a beautiful sunny day.
Dopo dieci anni in giro per il mondo sono arrivato alla conclusione che l’assicurazione di viaggio è tutto sommato inutile. Certo può capitare la situazione estrema dove devono trasportarti d’urgenza in elicottero, perchè ti trovi sperduto in un posto dove l’ospedale più vicino è a XXX ore di viaggio.
In Miyako there are 5 species of mangroves. What makes this mangroves specials is that they develop in an area without rivers. In Shimajiri they built a footbridge that makes a visit a strange cool experience, for people like me that has seen mangroves only from a boat. I wish only there was a better light for taking pictures, but we are in the rainy season.
Otōri (オトーリ) is how people drink Awamorì, the local drink distilled from rice, in Miyako.
Kurima island is a tiny island attached to Miyako by a beautifully shaped bridge, 1,7km long. This morning I cycled the island and the pictures you can see were taken from the bridge.
